NDE by 20/20 NDT in High Level AB
2020NDTWhat is NDE?
Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) is a term that is often used interchangeably with NDT. However, technically, NDE is used to describe measurements that are more quantitative in nature. For example, an NDE method would not only locate a defect, but it would also be used to measure something about that defect such as its size, shape, and orientation. NDE may be used to determine material properties, such as fracture toughness, formability, and other physical characteristics. NDE is a highly valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation and troubleshooting.
We offer a number of non-invasive non-destructive evaluation (NDE) services for the oil patch in Western Canada and northern Alberta. One of our niche specializations is field X-ray testing for pipelines and drilling fields near High Level, AB.
Radiographic Testing /Industrial X-Ray Inspection
This non-destructive testing (NDT) method uses radiation (in the form of photons or neutrons) to look into many kinds of materials, including your pipes. Radiographic testing quickly identifies problems like blockage and corrosion, including features that are hidden from view for other types of inspections. NDT techniques, like X-Ray inspection, evaluate the level of corrosion and/or erosion around a pipe, locate tiny cracks and fractures and accurately determine the integrity of pipe walls. With the help of cutting edge technology like wireless sensors, leaks and other potential points of failure will become easier and easier to detect.
Magnetic Particle Testing
Many stress fractures and cracks can be invisible to the naked eye, and these hidden dangers could potentially result in disaster if not detected and repaired in time. Magnetic particle testing detects weak spots and damaged sections of metal without harming or staining the object, allowing you to perform repairs more effectively. A liquid or powder solution composed of fluorescent and ferrous materials is sprayed on the magnetized section of pipe. The ferrous materials will be attracted into the cracks, and the fluorescence will show these cracks plainly under ultraviolet light. Cleanup before and after the process is simple, and there are no lasting effects to the pipes from the solution.
Ultrasonic testing
One of the methods that we use to perform corrosion and erosion inspections. Ultrasonic testing measures pipe wall loss, allows us to find pitting and pinholes, and detects damage. We provide all of the data collected in an easy-to-follow report so you can accurately determine the condition of your piping.
Emergency Services for High Level & surrounding area
Our mobile unit will come to your drill site and set up quickly to do an inspection. Our mission is to preserve your production goals in every way possible. We will be able to show you in real time what the integrity issues are in your welds; alternatively, we can develop accurate and informative X-ray images that you can archive in your project files.
Our technicians are trained to work fast and effectively anywhere in Alberta. We are equipped to work in extreme environments and within the physical constraints of your worksite.
